What an event!

What an event! 100km in 24 hours was a real challenge for me. I would have loved to take Choco along, but I think he would have been absolutely pooped once we got to the 15km mark. Since the Trailwalker event, Choco and I have kept up our exercise. Walking, exercising and playing with your dog really is essential for so many reasons. Not only does is assist your own health and wellbeing, it helps a dog to maintain ideal body condition and body weight, can assist joint function (particularly if you carry out short but frequent exercise on soft ground), and of course helps give plenty of mental stimulation lowering the chance of behavioural problems like separation anxiety and territorial barking. Having Choco’s Heyrex activity data is a very helpful reminder of how much (or how little) exercise we have done together on a daily and weekly basis.

Choco and I have bumped in to several canine friends who are now also wearing Heyrex collars. After chatting with their owners, it is obvious that the collar has quite a number applications. One owner’s dog was wearing a Heyrex collar that had been leased from their Veterinarian to help monitor a response to a medication she was receiving. Another bought the product to keep an eye on her Jack Russell’s daily exercise and sleep patterns. It seems that more and more people are catching on to the idea of monitoring their pet’s activity through this fantastic little device.

Stay tuned for the next instalment!
